Motorcycle riders took to the streets of Waynesville, North Carolina all revved-up about helping those in need.

The 10th annual Bikers in Boxers winter charity ride took place Saturday.

It's all about raising money for heating assistance for the elderly who couldn't otherwise afford it.

Mountain Projects' Share the Warmth Program receives all proceeds, which are then earmarked for the elderly who often times fall through the cracks in having their assistance needs met.

As is the tradition, riders strip down to their skivvies during the 20-minute cruise through downtown Waynesville.

While Saturday was a little warmer than it has been for past rides, riders said they make it work.

"We always want it to be a little cooler to make it a little more real, but we don't mind it not freezing too bad. At least it's not raining or snowing," said John Sinder, president of the BMW Rider Group.

"We like to say on a cold day when we ride through town, 'We freeze so you don't have to,'" he added.
