Business is booming for South Shore doggie ice cream truck

JB’s Doggie Delight Ice Cream Truck is making the rounds at dog parks across the South Shore.
At 10 years old, a hot day at the dog park can be exhausting for Gus, a basset hound and pit bull mix. He still needs exercise and loves to see other dogs at the park, his mom Debbie Weisman-Clasie of Quincy says, and something new is helping him making through the hot and humid days: ice cream.
Gus is a loyal customer of the JB’s Doggie Delight Ice Cream Truck, a brand new venture for the owner of JB’s Indoor Dog Park in Norwell. His favorite treat flavor is “all of them,” his mom says, and the homemade ice cream cups help cool Gus off after a jaunt to the park.
“We’ve been saying for years that someone should do this, so we’re really happy to see it,” Weisman-Clasie said on a recent day at Stodders Neck dog park in Hingham.
The JB’s ice cream truck started making the rounds at South Shore dog parks in late June — and was an instant hit, owner Jacky Brady said. She’s already bought a second truck to keep up with demand, and is booking events like visits to local luxury apartment complexes, brewery stops, doggy birthday parties and ribbon cuttings for local businesses....
