Spring is officially here and so is Peeps-flavored Pepsi!
With Easter right around the corner, Pepsi and Peeps are teaming up for a new soda pop that combines the two sweet flavors. Pepsi x Peeps, is a limited-edition cola featuring the sweet Peeps marshmallow flavor that will come in yellow, pink and blue mini cans.
The companies say the drink mixes the taste of Pepsi with the "pillowy-soft and sweet" marshmallow flavor of Peeps. The 7.5 ounce Pepsi mini-cans are even branded in recognizable Peeps colors.
"After what has been a very difficult year, many consumers are looking for new things to smile about, "Todd Kaplan, vice president of marketing for Pepsi, said in a statement. It's the soda producer's "first-ever marshmallow cola." "We know our consumers love our limited product drops, and we believe that PEPSI x PEEPS will deliver an iconic and delicious pairing that has the potential to become a fan favorite."
You won't be able to buy this new flavor. Pepsi is giving away 3,000 packages through a contest. To enter to win, you have to post your favorite springtime activities on Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #HangingWithMyPEEPS, and tag Pepsi.
Winners will receive a three pack of the mini cans in recognizable Peeps colors: yellow, blue and pink.
If there's enough demand for the product, Pepsi says the new flavor could eventually be sold to the public.
