With the cold winter weather upon us, a local man is serving up support to those in Maine experiencing homelessness.
Peter Kelleher, better known as ‘The Soupman,’ gave out backpacks filled with items outside the Oxford Street Center on Monday.
Kelleher says he dedicates his time to giving back because it is important and personal to him.
"This is about people helping people,” Kelleher says. “Losing a son was devastating to me. Too many parents are going through it. There's so much more we can do."
Kelleher adds that he is always looking for more help.
