The main goal of Wyoming Rescue Mission is to help those in need, get back on their feet. Recently another opportunity presented itself for WRM to help even more.
“We have just had this amazing opportunity through the generosity of the community, our partnership with the Food Bank of the Rockies, to distribute food boxes to families in need,” said WRM Executive Director, Brad Hopkins.
Hopkins said the service industry has been hit hard during the pandemic, and it made sense to extend their outreach to more than the people currently staying at Park Street Center.
The food boxes will be given out every Wednesday starting at 10 a.m. on the back side of Park Street Center. The amount of food they can give out depends weekly on the product WRM gets from Wyoming Food Bank of the Rockies. To promote social distancing, there is a drive-thru service, families will not even need to get out of their cars.

Hopkins said they are honored to serve and handing that box to a family in need, melts your heart.
“To see their smile and to see their thank you, it just absolutely melts your heart. Just the simplest of needs and gestures means the world to those that are living paycheck to paycheck, day by day on unemployment, we’re just touched,” said Hopkins.
There is no current end date for the food box service and they hand the boxes out until they are gone. The past few weeks they have had 40 to 60 available for those in need.... MORE
